Our New Arrival

Welcome to the world,
Aviva Margot

Born on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 7:05 PM, at 7 lbs. 13.6 oz. and 21 in.

Becoming a mother to this beautiful, perfect piece of creation has been the most amazing experience. If I had to choose one word to describe how my heart felt after the placed her on my chest and she wriggled up to my breast and latched on, it would be incandescent. Her name first name means spring  and her middle name means pearl, both Hebrew in origin. Her nickname is Ava, playing on her Jewish name Chaya (Eve) which means life.

After the first two days of Passover, I plan on writing up her birth story. From this point forward, I'll refer to her as Ava in the blog and hopefully now that she is here and the suspense is over, I'll be more diligent in my posting. She's currently squirming on me which means it's time to put her to the breast, so off I go.

I love being a mother. I have never felt such purpose in my life before.

  1. She is so beautiful! Congratulations!

  2. Welcome to motherhood! :D words can't describe, huh? She is perfect! I'm so happy for you!

  3. I just emailed you back, then realized it was to "no-reply-commenter." Whoops!

    Here's what I said:
Oh, thank you so much for your sweet comments, Rose. We definitely try to make family time a priority. So many things can get in the way, but I want my kids to have lots of fun family memories.
How are you doing adjusting to motherhood? Ava is absolutely gorgeous! :)

Oh, and I want to hear about your Farmer's Market trip! :)

I'd love to hear from you and will reply happily!
